Great, that you found your way to my website and you are interested in the Airdrum.
You’re probably wondering how a conventional plastic bottle can produce such a clear and metallic sound. The principle is very simple. In the bottle cap, a car valve is screwed airtight. With a bicycle pump, the bottle can now be inflated with the desired pressure. The ingenious thing about it: The bottle is a sound generator and sound box in one. The higher the pressure, the higher the surface tension of the bottle and thus the higher the tone.
The Airdrum is unique and completely self-made. Since 2015, we, Julian and Daniel, are working on further developing the instrument.
I am very happy that my project was honored with the Award of Merit of the Maker Music Festival in 2021.
The Maker Music Festival celebrates the makers of innovative, experimental and just plain unusual musical instruments and is situated in California, USA.
